Partiful for Wedding Guest Texting: 4 Limits to Know Before You Send (2026)
Partiful is free and great for parties, but its text blasts have limits a wedding hits fast: 10 blasts per event, no blasts to 100+ invited guests, and alcohol mentions sent as a link.

The short answer
Partiful works for wedding texting only if your wedding is small and you send a handful of messages. Its own help center sets four limits on text blasts: 10 blasts per event, no blasts to more than 100 guests still in Invited status, blasts up to 60 days after the event, and blasts that mention alcohol and other restricted topics arrive as a link instead of your words. A wedding usually needs save the dates, RSVP chasing, travel details, and day-of updates to a list well over 100, so it hits those limits fast. Partiful is free, and there is no paid upgrade to raise the limits that we could find.
We make Cordially Wed, a wedding texting service, so read this as a comparison from a competitor. Every Partiful claim below links to Partiful's help center, checked on October 10, 2026.
Limit 1: ten text blasts per event
Partiful lets a host send up to 10 separate text blasts to groups of guests such as Going, Maybe, Can't Go, or Invited. Once they are used, the remaining option is a comment on the event page, which notifies guests.
Ten sounds like plenty for a birthday. Count a wedding instead:
1. Save the date
2. Invitation with the RSVP link
3. First RSVP reminder
4. Last call before the caterer's deadline
5. Hotel block closing
6. Shuttle or parking details
7. Welcome event the night before
8. Wedding morning schedule
9. Weather or venue change
10. Thank you after the wedding
That is all ten before a single per-event message for a Mehndi, a rehearsal dinner, or a farewell brunch.
Limit 2: no blasts once more than 100 guests are Invited
If more than 100 guests are still in Invited status, meaning they have not responded, Partiful won't let you text blast them. Its fix is to remove Invited guests until fewer than 100 remain. If automatic reminders are on, those RSVP reminders still go out.
For a wedding, the guests who haven't replied are the ones you most need to reach. Many guest lists pass 100 people, so early in the RSVP window most of the list sits in Invited, which is exactly when you can't message them.
Limit 3: alcohol mentions arrive as a link
Partiful says it can't deliver text blasts about cannabis, CBD, fireworks, alcohol, tobacco, firearms, adult content, hate speech, gambling, or prescription drugs. A blast that mentions one of them is sent as a link to your event instead of the text you wrote.
Wedding updates mention alcohol all the time: "the open bar starts at 6", "champagne toast after the ceremony", "the after party is at the hotel bar". With Partiful, guests get a link to tap instead of the update. Phone carriers do restrict some content for every texting service, so keep day-of messages practical whichever tool you use.
Limit 4: blasts end 60 days after the event
Partiful allows text blasts up to 60 days after the event. That is generous for a party, and it covers a thank-you text or a photo link after the wedding. It matters less than the first three limits, but it is worth knowing if you plan to send something like an anniversary note to the same list.
Partiful and a wedding texting service side by side
Both tools let guests RSVP from a link without downloading anything. The difference is how much you can say, to how many people, and how often.

When Partiful is the right call
Use Partiful for the events around the wedding: the engagement party, the shower, the bachelor or bachelorette weekend. Those have small lists, a few messages each, and a fun invite page guests already know. Use a wedding texting service for the wedding itself, where you need months of messages, reminders that go only to the people who haven't answered, and per-event RSVPs. Frequently asked questions
Can I use Partiful for a wedding?
Yes, for a small wedding with few messages. Partiful allows 10 text blasts per event, can't text blast more than 100 guests still in Invited status, and sends blasts that mention alcohol as a link. Bigger weddings usually outgrow those limits.
How many text blasts can you send on Partiful?

Why can't I text blast my Invited guests on Partiful?
Partiful blocks text blasts to Invited guests when more than 100 are in that status. Remove Invited guests until fewer than 100 remain. Automatic RSVP reminders still go out if they're switched on.
Why did my Partiful text blast send as a link?
Blasts that mention alcohol, cannabis, CBD, fireworks, tobacco, firearms, adult content, hate speech, gambling, or prescription drugs are sent as a link to your event instead of the message text.
Is Partiful free?
Yes. We didn't find a paid plan that raises the text blast limits.
