What WedTexts actually does

WedTexts is a broadcast tool, and it is clear about that. You import your guest list, sort people into unlimited groups, write with Easy-Fill templates that drop in names and event details, then send immediately or pre-schedule reminders weeks out. Messages arrive as ordinary SMS, so there is nothing for guests to install and it works on any phone, including a relative's ten-year-old handset. Two things are worth doing the math on. Per guest, the ladder runs $1.50 at the 50 tier, $1.40 at 100, $1.30 at 150, then falls steadily on the unlimited tier ($1.00 a head at 300 guests, $0.75 at 400). And there is a cliff: 151 guests puts you straight from $195 to $300, with nothing in between.

What it does well

Several things here are genuinely good. Unlimited messages at every tier, including free, is rarer than it sounds; a number of competitors sell buckets of texts, which means counting before you send the shuttle update. WedTexts never makes you ration a send.

Paid tiers also differ from each other and from the free tier only by guest count and one extra user seat. No feature is held back to push you up the ladder, which is unusually honest pricing in this category. The apps matter on the day itself, when you are sending from a getting-ready room rather than a laptop. And the free 15-guest tier is a real product rather than a countdown, so you can see exactly what you are buying before you pay anything.

Where it stops

The honest limits, all of which are fine for some weddings and disqualifying for others:

• No WhatsApp. WedTexts is SMS, and WhatsApp appears nowhere on their pricing page, homepage, or FAQ.
• International delivery is undocumented. Nothing on their public pages states whether non-US numbers are supported, so confirm before buying if part of your list is abroad.
• No RSVP collection. Reminders can point guests to whatever RSVP you use elsewhere, but WedTexts holds no responses, so it cannot send a reminder only to the people who have not replied.
• It is built for broadcasting rather than conversation. Their own FAQ frames guests replying to your cell number as the thing to avoid, and we found no reply inbox documented on their public pages. If two-way conversation matters to you, ask them directly before buying.
• Cost per guest is steepest at the small end: $75 for 50 guests is $1.50 a head.

Who WedTexts fits

WedTexts is a good fit if your guest list is US-based on US cell numbers, you want a focused broadcast tool rather than another planning dashboard, and your RSVPs already live somewhere else you are happy with, such as your registry site or your own wedding website.
